Dermaplaning removes the fine fluffy hair on the face and provides many benefits for the skin.

The gentle scraping of the surface of your skin acts as a deep physical exfoliant and removes dead skin in addition to hair. As we all well know, dead skin along with dirt and oil can clog pores resulting in infuriating breakouts which leads us to the second benefit… hairless skin is some of the cleanest skin. Because there is no hair to trap dirt, oil, and other debris clinging to your face, your skin will be cleaner after a dermaplaning facial which, again, helps prevent future breakouts and allows other products to penetrate more deeply into the skin. This procedure is not recommended for active breakouts.

Dermaplaning can also have some anti-aging effects as the removal of dead skin reduces the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars. In addition, you will experience improvements in your skin’s texture and specific skin tone and walk away with a dewy glow and skin that is silky smooth to the touch. As a result, your makeup will glide on evenly and flawlessly.

Sensory experience...pure luxury

A quiet retreat down a long driveway probably minutes from your house. At Sculptured Cosmetics Beauty Boutique there is plenty of parking in a well designed area with ease of entry and exit. A definite plus. I was warmly greeted by Joanne, the owner and invited into a charming reception area decorated in soft rose hues and dove gray. The tea I was offered was delicious and calming, raspberry I think, then we decided upon a service.

So much to choose from so you really must visit the range of treatments she has to offer before booking. Her treatment room was softly lit with candles and barely audible music evoking a sense of calm and relaxation. The Water Lily facial we had chosen together was a sensory experience both in fragrance and the expert lightness of her touch. Pure luxury.
An unhurried atmosphere surrounded us as she expertly handled the lavish creams and hot towels that my body was in great appreciation of. I seemed to drift in and out of a very shallow, weightless tranquility and was mildly annoyed when the session was over. Can we start over please?
